If you like this post, please buy me a beer for $3 8-)Health ALERT: Restaurant Guest Pagers and the Hidden Health Dangers!!
According to a CBS News investigative report - restaurant pagers pose a hidden health hazards. Cell phone pager system like Mobile Matradee and Text2Table are the answer.
Restaurant pager systems have come a long way. Gone are the bulky old things that used to be the size of the original cell phones.
Restaurant’s Strive to Keep both Guests and Staff Healthy
Typical restaurant wait management systems consist of a grease pen and a stack of restaurant coaster pagers. The ability to instantly notify a guest that their table is ready via a restaurant coaster pager turns tables faster thus increasing revenues. A laudable business objective with one significant exception, guest pagers or restaurant beeper pagers are handled by dozens of people in a single evening spreading bacteria and viruses to your guests and staff, according to Dr. Daniel Meyer an Infectious Disease Specialist at Cooper University Hospital.
Not convinced, watch CBS New reporter, Stephanie Stahl’s piece “The Hidden Restaurant Dangers“.
Restaurant’s and guest both value a well managed wait list, what’s the solution? In response to the health issue as well as the costs associated with restaurant pager systems innovative firms such as Fulcrum Design and iT-Worxs have combined the value of the restaurant pager with the power and prevalence of the mobile phone to create a revolutionary new restaurant pager system – restaurant text pagers or restaurant cell phone pagers. According to Mobile Tendz 9 out 10 people have a cell phone. Fulcrum Design’s innovation Mobile Matradee is a 3 in 1 solution integrating a computerized wait list system, a restaurant text pager system and an optional mobile marketing program. Simply by using cell phones, in lieu of restaurant coaster pagers, Mobile Matradee prevents the spread of bacteria and viruses, is more cost effective (no pager replacement costs) and easy to use. Text pagers are going to be the first line of defense if another epidemic like Swine flu occurs this fall.
Value Added - Restaurant Wait List Systems
An often overlooked value added benefit of restaurant text pagers,(besides decreasing operating costs by leveraging the proliferation of cell phones as restaurant pagers), is the integrated wait list management program that is part and parcel to most of these programs. Another words, no more grease pens or note books, just a mini labtop, iPad or web enabled POS to access a web portal. Some systems like Mobile Matadee and Text2Table have Call a Head seating built into the program. Mobile Matadee has a restaurant reservation system that uses text or voice to confirm guest’s reservations. The next generation of restaurant pagers systems are cell phones and managing your wait list through a simple yet robust automated and affordable restaurant wait list management system is a no brainer. Best of all you are no longer threatening the health of your guests.
If you own a restaurant, you need endless bookings. The latest tech in restaurant paging systems is an ROI you will not find elsewhere.
